Garmin 200W now official

.'

Garmin made their new wide screen nuvi 200W model official last week - couple weeks after we talked about them here at Navigadget (wider Nuvi).

With a suggested retail price of $535, the new Nuvi 200W, still claims to be an affordable, budget, entry level GPS navigation system. The most obvious feature of the 200W is its 4.3'' touch screen display with white backlight that is easy to read from any direction.

nuvi 200W comes preloaded with City Navigator NT street maps, including plenty of POI's. Additionally, nuvi 200W accepts custom points of interest (POIs), such as school zones and safety cameras and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POIs.

Garmin does not mention details of the Li-Ion rechargeable battery, but they say it should last up to 5 hours, which is really impressive. Some other software features are JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, and calculator.
